Meghalaya Itinerary (6 D | 5 N)

Day 1: Arrival in Guwahati | Umiam Lake | Overnight in Shillong

• 12:00 PM: Meet the group at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station.
• Begin the scenic journey to Shillong, fondly known as “The Scotland of the East.”
• Check into the hotel upon arrival in Shillong and unwind with some leisure time.
• In the evening, dive into the vibrant café culture and bustling local markets of Shillong.
• Overnight stay: Hotel in Shillong.

Day 2: Shillong to CherrapunjiExploration

• Savor a delicious breakfast to kickstart your day.
• Visit Elephant Falls to capture breathtaking photos of this cascading beauty.
• Marvel at the panoramic views from Dympep Valley View Point.
• Discover the natural beauty and intriguing rock formations at the Garden of Caves.
• Relish a meal at the renowned Orange Restaurant for lunch.
• Explore the fascinating limestone formations in Mawsmai Cave.
• Witness the majestic cascade of seven streams at the Seven Sisters Waterfalls View Point.
• Retreat to your homestay and enjoy a cozy dinner (self-sponsored).
• Overnight stay: Homestay in Cherrapunji.

Day 3: Trek to Single Root Bridge and Double Decker Bridge

• Delight in a hearty breakfast at the homestay.
• Drive to Tyrna and commence the adventurous trek to the Single Root Bridge.
• Experience the awe-inspiring Double Decker Living Root Bridge.
• Enjoy a packed lunch during the trek.
• If time permits, explore the enchanting Rainbow Falls (9,000 steps).
• Return to Cherrapunji.
• Overnight stay: Homestay in Cherrapunji.
  • Note: The trek involves approximately 9,000 steps round trip.

Day 4: Cherrapunji to Mawlynnong

• Breakfast to fuel your day.
• Visit the spectacular Nohkalikai Waterfall, the tallest plunge waterfall in India.
• Drive to the breathtaking Laitlum Grand Canyon for some stunning vistas.
• Have lunch on the way.
• Explore Mawlynnong, acclaimed as the cleanest village in Asia.
• Enjoy a hearty dinner and relax in a charming homestay or camp stay near Dawki river.
• Overnight stay: Homestay in Mawlynnong.

Day 5: Dawki and Shnongpdeng Activities

• Start your day early with breakfast.
• Head to Dawki and indulge in water activities or a serene boat ride on the crystal-clear river.
• Visit Shnongpdeng for more thrilling water adventures.
• Have lunch on the way.
• Discover the pristine beauty of Krang Suri Waterfalls and take a refreshing dip if time allows.
• Return to Shillong.
• Overnight stay: Hotel in Shillong.

Day 6: Return to Guwahati

• Enjoy breakfast at the hotel.
• Visit the serene Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians and the picturesque Ward Lake.
• Journey back towards Guwahati Airport.
• Please book flights after 6:30 PM.
• Return home with a treasure trove of unforgettable memories from the enchanting northeast.

Inclusions

• Accommodation: 5 nights – 2 nights in a hotel/homestay in Shillong, 2 nights in a hotel/homestay in Cherrapunji, and 1 night in raw camps in Shnongpdeng on a double/triple sharing basis.
• Meals: Breakfast on all days, and dinner on Day 4.

• The remaining balance is due 7 days before the trip’s departure.
